I'm upgrading my Ender 3 and one of the main additions is supposed to be auto bed leveling.I decided to go with one of the more popular BLTouch clones, made by Geeetech. Cost a third of the real one, good documentation, so why not gamble a bit?

TL;DR: Nope. Get a genuine BLTouch from an authorized seller. You'll save 20 bucks, because you'll end up getting a real one anyway.

Pro:

The electronics work.

I'm 20 bucks wiser.

Technically it measures the distance from the print bed

Con:

Out of the box it measures said distance to within +-0.6mm(!) accuracy. After some cleaning and troubleshooting I got that down to ~0.3mm. Neither value is even close to usable of course. Rammed my nozzle into the bed a few times.

I just ordered a real one. I can only suggest you do that from the start if you're considering to upgrade your printer and are looking through options.
