Control box dead on Prusa I3 A Pro

Post by cheesepower » Mon Feb 27, 2017 1:41 pm

My Geeetech Aluminum Prusa I3 A Pro worked fine for approx 40 hours. Yesterday evening, when i started the control box i heard a kind of whistle and after nothing. The LCD panel become black and the fan stopped.

I checked the main fuse and it is OK. Looks like that at least the PSU in the box is dead... Could someone tell me how the after sales service works ?

Today a quick test with another PSU and the printer unplugged :

The GT2560 is working and the LCD is on. The original PSU is officially down :-(

Here are a few pictures of my testings:

In your case, cause it's not the PSU quality problem,I'm afraid that you should buy a new one :( .

I don't think the box is out of order.

When i am using the original PSU (the geetech inside the box) nothing happens. the LCD is black and the box fan is not working. I tested this PSU. I mesure 230V AC in the input, but i have 0V DC on the output.

When i am using another PSU (one of mine), the LCD and the fan are working.

That's why is say that the Geeetech PSU is dead. ;)

I bought this printer on december so Geeetech must apply the 1 year warranty. To me, there is no need to change the complete box (GT2560 + PSU).

Not so good because i must choose between my PC or my Prusa (i am using an ATX PSU to have a decent power).

Now i need a new PSU from Geeetech reference DC 300A to use both printer and PC.

As i said this printer is 2 month old so you must apply the warranty and send me a new PSU for free. I can send you the order number on private mail if needed

Sorry I should have added to my previous comment! I bought mine of E Bay in December and the person/company wont even answer me ! I cant get any help from that side!
I like my I3 pro C my left extruder works well! Well that is until the power supply decided 2 months was enough!
I have just bought (From EBay the Latest Rostock Desktop Delta 3D Printer 3-in-1-... I think I should have my Head checked!
Once again good luck to both of us
