Nowhere to install TMC2208 on A20T motherboard?

Post by Blue_Collar » Fri Aug 06, 2021 6:24 am

Fellow printers,
I was going to upgrade the three extruders with TMC2208 drivers, but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to plug in the chips on the board. There seem to be 6 small soldered chips where I would expect the driver chips to go. I marked the chips with a red arrow and dots on the picture below, but I’m not sure the picture attached correctly. The A20T is very new (like a month old). Do the new boards not allow adding TMC2208 drivers? Any advice appreciated!

I was reading yesterday and I came across something that state the new Geeetech 4.1B is not changeable due to being soldered on the board. I came across it while looking to see if I could upgrade the Board to a 32 bit board.

That’s what I was afraid of. I would consider this a step backwards... probably saved about $0.10 per board.

Thank you for the info.
