Printer wont print in centre of plate

Post by Bill A » Sat Jun 05, 2021 9:37 am

My new A20m always starts printing at x=o and y=0 and can only print 1/4 of model. What am I doing wrong when slicing with Ultimaker Cura slicer?

Sort of - If I locate my model in the far right corner of the Cura plate before I slice, the printer prints about the middle of the plate. Seem like an error in the Cura coding is causing the problem but I can’t get into the Cura forum to seek advice.

Hello, maybe you can replace a slicing software, such as repetier-host, to see if the problem can be solved.

I have now tried slicing with Repetier and it does print in the centre of the plate so it obviously is the Cura coding that is causing my problems. Unfortunately the Repetier doesn’t seem to accommodate 2 extruders and doesn’t heat the base plate. It looks like a good slicer as it at least shows the full G-coding and is fast. I will have to keep trying to contact Ultimaker to see if my software can be corrected
