Rumba Plus hotbed not heating

Post by mrvelj » Fri Jun 22, 2018 11:36 pm

I am trying to configure Marlin 1.1.8 on rumba plus board, but I cannot get it to heat the hotbed.

I am using Anet A8 printer where I replaced the control board for Rumba Plus. However not matter what I do, I cannot get hotbed to heat. Everything else works (LCD, all motors, extruder, thermistors, endstops, even additional bed leveling sensor).

When I set temperature for the hotbed, hotbed is not heating.
  • 12V is connected on the Hotbed power IN (and main power IN)
  • If the temperature is set I can see the LED (LD2) turn on
  • I can measure 12V on the HB power IN
  • I cannot measure voltage on the HB out (with or without HB connected)
  • If I connect HB directly to 12V it heats up
My HB is set like this (default setting in pins_RUMBA.h):

Code: Select all

#define HEATER_BED_PIN      9
I even borrowed second rumba plus board and I am getting identical results - everything works except for HB heating. What am I missing?

Hi,

I've the same ploblem but I use a 12V power supply for the rumba board (motors, etc) and a 24v power supply and a mofset for the heat bed.

Did you find how to solve the issue please?

Something in the firmware maybe?

Cheers.

Hello my friend,
I had the same problem an I find the solution in other forum.

I connected additional power cables from Power Supply to Rumba that are classified as Bed Power. You can see the picture at the link below.
