Cold Extrusion Prevented - Extruder 2

Post by JeffD » Mon Feb 10, 2020 10:24 pm

I am getting a 'cold extrusion prevented' error on extruder 2. Repetier and the control head show the hot end heated to 220c but I can not advance material through Extruder 2.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi,
You can see if you can manually feed and see if it is blocked.

Thx for the response.

It is not blocked as I can push filament manually through it. Using the manual control panel in Repetier, I can trigger the stepper motor for Extruder 1 to advance, but when I attempt to trigger the motor for Extruder 2, it is the motor on Extruder 1 that advances for some reason. Both ends heat up fine, but only Extruder 1 motor turns. I believe the error is coming from Extruder 1 when the head is not heated when I am trying to test Extruder 2.

Also, I have tried everything advised on this forum to get the drive mechanism to move filament in the working Extruder, but it now only skips and does not move filament. A gentle push and it extrudes fine but without manual pressure, it will not work. Totally frustrated with this. Using PLA so its not complicated. Even changed to .4mm nozzles to make it easier. The springs are terrible cheap metal and weaken as time goes on.

Thanks in advance.
