Hi,

Just print the test cube which is 20mm tall.

In the menu / motion / you should have an item z steps (depending of fw version).

Apply a rule of 3 : e.g in the meny zstep =400 and the print is only 18mm high, it means thqt the correct zstep should be increased to = 400 * 20/18 = 444

Don't forget to save/store your value

Hope it helps
Cool!Thx a lot

Hey everyone, I got it to work.

The problem was the setting for steps-per-unit for the Z axis that was recorded in the EEPROM. It was set to 2560.

Thierry actually pointed me in the right direction with the example where zstep was 400. I then found the Marlin Firmware GCode reference (http://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M092.html) and used command M92 Z400 to set it to a "normal" value.

I then printed the calibration cube (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1278865) as suggested, used the rule of three to calculate xstep, ystep, and zstep, sent GCode M92 X76.08 Y78.36 Z377.68 to the printer and voila!

I'm actually thinking of editing my first post in this thread to explain all I did. The information might be super useful to others. I know I would have loved to find all this stuff well documented, all in one place.

Hey hey.

Maybe do not edit the first post, but describe everything in the next one.

My congratulations for solving the problem by yourself.

Hey _kaktus_,

I really can't take the credit for solving everything. Your answers early on were extremely valuable! So, were Thierry's instructions on calibration.

Thank you, both! I couldn't have done it without you.
