Hi,

I have problems with the display on my printer. Almost during every print the display suddenly shows stranfge characters and seems to be hung up. The print process continues without any problem.
What cpould be the problem? I have double checked the cables already. Is there something wrong with the power supply?

Best regards
Onki

Hi.

The phenomenon you observe is the effect of data transmission errors to the display.

Here are the some possible:
1.The 2560 Mega chip is busy on some code,it won't show the normal menu
2.Your printer have a short circuit for it,you need to check the PSU at first
3.You can try to check the LCD wires loose or not
;)

Hi,

I have checked the cables already. There is no such thing like a proper display after a while, just strange letters and symbols.
I have the feeling that the PSU is not very stable and I will at a buffer capacitor for testing. In addition I add ferrite cores to the flat ribbon cables as they may block the "shit" coming throug the wire :-).

I am close to change the CPU since the GT2560 offers more feaurtures than the Sanguinololu like BL-Sensor for the printing bed and filament sensor.

Has someone done this already on a i3 Aluminum?
What about 24V supply (I have some nice Meanwell and Lambda 24V power supply units)? Does this work with the current Hardware (Steppers) and the GT 2560? OK the heatbed might cause problems.

Bets regards
Onki
