Hi.

I'd say it's perfectly natural.
Did you find a photo of my first print on the forum?
You will burst with laughter when you see it ...

I suggest you calibrate the extruder in the first step.

And as the first Slicer program I will recommend you Repetier-Host.

You can calibrate extruders as follows:

  • Load the filament into the first extruder but do not insert it deep into the bowden tube.
  • Measure a precise distance of 10cm from the entrance to the extruder,
  • Draw a visible line on the filament in the measurement location,
  • enter manually a 10cm segment of the filament, you can do it from the printer menu or from the slicer program,
  • Measure again, compare it with the line you took earlier. If it's in a good position, you don't have to do anything. Otherwise, in the printer configuration change the number of steps for the extruder motor.
  • If necessary, you can repeat the whole procedure to verify the new settings.

At the beginning of your journey, you may also have problems with the adhesion of the filament to the heating plate.
It is advisable to precisely level the heated bed with a sheet of paper.
;)

Hi.

There's one other very important thing I forgot to tell you before.
In the configuration of your Slicer, there must be correctly specified diameter of the filament you are using. :!:

Thanks. You didn't mention if that setting was the correct one. Is it the manual extruder speed

:P
If you want someone to watch your pictures, make sure they are clearly legible and elegant.

You can do it as follows:
1. Press the print screen button on your keyboard.
2. Open your favorite graphics editor - it could be a Paint.
3. Use the paste option from the menu or key combination Ctrl+V.
4. save the image file in one of the available formats.

When you want to take a screenshot of a small application window that is active by holding down the left Alt key and at the same time press Print Screen.

Then your posts will be beautiful and invite everyone to read. Good luck. :D

the option I wrote about has nothing to do with the speed of an extruder.

Measure again, compare it with the line you took earlier. If it's in a good position, you don't have to do anything. Otherwise, in the printer configuration change the number of steps to 1mm for the extruder motor.

Hi Bs.

If my gibberish is incomprehensible to you, tell me that. I will try to improve it so that you know what I mean.

In my case, the default setting of the number of motor steps per rotation was not correct.
Look at the photo:

.

As a result of the calibration, I had to correct this value(esteps) to 101.

Kactus thanks, while sometimes it is a little hard to follow, I can understand for the most part. But what I am confused about is that you told me to measure the extruder step and if need be change it to 1mm. I do understand the estep however you said you changed to 101 but your screen shows 9* something.

I do not understand where I need to change things to 1mm if extruder step doesn't match. And how do I figure out how much I should change estep.

Thanks for all your help.
