Upgrading my I3 pro x to a dual extruder.

Post by jortner » Wed Aug 15, 2018 10:12 pm

Hello all,

I have a Prusa I3 Pro X that came with the single MK8 extruder. I have upgraded it to a V6 J-head hotend. I want to add another J-head to make it a dual extruder. I bought a second stepper motor and the motor driver. Both hotends will heat up but only one stepper motor will turn. The other one only makes a clicking sound and doesn’t rotate. I’m not sure to do do at this point? Not sure if ai got the correct stepper motor or if I set something up wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jason

Hi

I am interested in how you have connected two stepper motors to the drivers. Because the problem can arise from it.
