Why am i getting only partial prints?

when using repetierhost V 2.1.6, i slice and preview the print.
it all look ok.
load it on to the card load it in the printer and commence the print.
the graph starts at 0% at the beginning of the print and by the time it reaches 100% the print is not completed.
it seems to only happen on multi colour prints..
all my single colour prints, regardless of the extruder im using print fine.
its only when i multi colour print.
i have tried multiple times and the pint stops at varying stages and the graph on the screen reads 100%.
the actual print is 15% to 50% completed.
what am i doing wrong?
id greatly appreciate any assistance.
i am about to try the print using cura, see what happens
