z axis end stop not working - solved

Post by jbalat » Fri Mar 20, 2020 5:44 pm

When I try to level the nozzle it smashes into the bed. I have tightened up all the springs and lowered the bed as much as I can

I tried pressing the z switch by hand before it got to the bottom and despite the red light coming on it refused to stop

This is a new printer

I’m thinking to temporarily hook it up to another switch just to rule that out, the. Open up the case and check the wire connectivity from the switch to the connection on the board

Any other ideas ?

Thanks John B

Hi, Whether you have 3d touch installed,
You can try to connect the printer to the Repetier Host and enter M119 in the manual control,
Check the limit switch situation,
You can refer to: http://geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=60927
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)

Ok it’s possessed !!

M119 shows all switches on by default and off when they are pressed so all good

I connected up to pronteface and everything works as normal

I can home x, home y, I can move z up and down but when I attempt to home z it goes to the middle of the bed and heads downwards and z switch does not respond to stop it

Any ideas

It was trying to auto level

Control - auto level - and switch it off

Not sure why it comes turned on by default, lost a couple of hours of my life trying to figure this out
