Post by Sergio46 » Fri Mar 08, 2019 7:04 pm

Hello,

the Hotbed on my A30 can't rech 80°, something about 73° is max.
Can't print PETG therefore.

Someone have any solution for that?

Thanks.

I think you should use the multimeter to check the PSU output voltage.
Then you need to check the resistance of the hot bed.(The power of the hot bed should be 250~270W).

Same here. I measured 4,2Ohm between Pin 2 and Pin 3. If I calculate with Ohms Law it is around 130Watt but absolutely no 260W. I ordered a new heatingbed from Geeetech but same problem. The maximum temperature I can reach is about 83°C and it is not possible to print ABS with this.
Do you have a solution?

I have three A30 printers. I have the same Problem on one machine while the other two work fine!
I swapped components to finally trigger the issue down to the heatbed itself. I even tried to resolder the connection cable - the problem is not the mosfet nor the PSU. When measureing during heating up my printer is only consuming 70w which is far to low. With the fine hotbeds it is around 230-250w!
I had further problems with printer three - unfortunatly a replacement hotbed has not yet been supplied although this is a warranty case as the printer is brand new and never worked correctly! I hope the techsupport will provide the still missing parts ASAP.

Hi,If you mean that the power of the hot bed is insufficient, you need to check your version information.
The model before 2.0 is 12V, and the model after 2.0 is 24V.
If the power of the hot bed is insufficient, you need to contact your sales instructions to replace the corresponding hot bed.

I measured everything with a multimeter and doublechecked the versions. I have three A30 printers with 24V PSU and all hotbeds are soldered with 24V connections. Hovever one hotbed is not heating up corectly and has insufficient power consumption! As I have the possibility to swap components between the printers I can verify it is a not correct working hotbed.
I swapped PSU, Mosfet and even the connection cable of the hotbed by soldering a new one there. In all cases one hotbed is not working with different Mosfets, Connections cables and PSU in different printers while the other hotbeds work fine in any configuration.
The retailer offered me now a Discount so I can order the spre part on my own.
Once I have the partial refund I will order the new hotbed.
I am really happy with the Geeetech printers in general - I just had really bad luck with on individual Printer which is causing one Problem after the other...
My two A10M printers work perfectly after upgrading with TMC2208 and two of three A30 printers as well!

Hi, If your hotbed is not powerful enough,
You need to replace it.
