Suggestion for Power-loss Resume function

Post by Jarda3d » Thu Mar 21, 2019 8:54 am

Dear staff,

there is big problem if printer have resumed when it is cold.

+ big drop of plastic leaked from estruder
+ zero adhesion of partially printed object

We need to melt this big drop and of course try some re-adhesion of partially printed part. Maybe about half hour heating bed in 100% PWM (or -preliminary- 130 °C as safety maximum, but heated bed probably does not have enough power to go above 120°C). The big drop need to be "smeared" and filament refilled into tip.

So the time needed for heating will be very long. I am talking about ABS (PLA will need duifferent temps). The first 15 minutes of ordinary preheating for start is not enough to melt drop nor re-fixing object.

TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.

Hi,
I think the real Power Resume function need a spare UPS for it.
When the power loss then your UPS part can send the Gcode to your printer and let it homing X/Y axis+Z axis raise 5mm.
When the power resume,it should send the gcode to the motherboard to clean the nozzle.
At last,it back to the object then finished it.

For the object,I suggest you use the solid glue into the hotbed surface.
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)

Hi.

William ...
William, in what you say is a lot of right. However, I also think that when printing with ABS, this function is useless.
On the forum I help to use the rod, I don't give fish.
Geeetech Prusa I3 M201 Dual extruder Mixcolor 3D printer, bought 2017-12-19, already built, in the cognitive and improvement phase
Geeetech filament, ABS only

Positively frenzied customer of Getech Technology.
