For the first question,May it help you if you check out whether the endstop have been put in the suitable position.As you describe，the problem may result from the unsuitable position of the endstop closed to the back,so the motor will continue the movement after the motor reach the home.At the same time ，you need check whether the line of the endstop is connected well.
