What is currently the most reliable extruder design?

Post by clamy99 » Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:39 pm

I'm thinking about building another 3d printer. I've taken a break from 3d printing for a few years and have been tinkering with lathes, mills and CNC routers. So I'm at the point where I can fabricate just about anything. I want to build a very stout printer. Over built and over powered.

In the past I've had terrible luck with extruders. Clogs, filament tear outs, etc... The E3D hot ends were the big new thing when I built my last printer. The last printer was a rostock inspired delta printer.

So what is the current most reliable extruder?
