E180 hotend intermittently working

The hotend on my E180 is only working intermittently.

Is this a firmware or controller board issue.

I am also considering to replace the hotend with V6 Extruder Hotend 1.75mm and the originals fail to often, I'm on about the 4th.

Also can I replace the controller board with something like a GT2560 board, if so what about the LEd screen and the leveling functions
