Printing too high

Post by Ddman114 » Sun Oct 15, 2017 4:26 am

So ive completely calibrated my aluminum prusa i3 (nozzle at as it can go while still allowing the movement of a piece of paper) but my prints still don't come out looking like anything close to what they should look like. The filament comes out into a curly mess. Now I think ive found the problem, when I watch my 3d printer print the nozzle isn't very close to the glass I think its the settings on repitier host but I have no idea where this setting would be or what it would be called.

I think you should modify the Z steps/mm to 400.
The best way is to upload the firmware again.

You need to choose the firmware named "Plusa_I3_A_sanguinololu(for the upgraded kit using lead screw)" of Aluminum I3.

Oh god not again one of my earlier problems was the stepper motors for the z was reversed (+ would go down - up) and I tryed for a good couple of weeks and couldn't get it to upload (error message i cant remeber) so instead I just snipped the wires and reversed them, is there any other way?

You can modify the direction in configuration.h file of MARLIN firmware.
There is a post you can refer to :
