Before diving in the deep end and changing all the electronic and firmware settings, have you loaded the filament properly? You should be able to manually extrude it by pushing it through the extruder. (You need to preheat the extruder manually before doing this if not using a computer to drive the printer. You can preheat using Repetier-host if you use a computer.)

The pressure spring fitted I find is too strong, I had to fit a weaker one to prevent the pinch roller acting like a brake on the hobbed feed gear and stalling the stepper motor (you hear a clicking noise) I eventually fitted an aluminium extruder kit (right handed) and decreased the spring pressure till it fed properly.

You also have to have the Z-Axis calibrated properly, too close to the hot bed will prevent the filament being extruded.

Play Bonny!
