hello all
trying to see if I can repair the board from its faulty electronic before bypassing them and take the spare FAN connector that is not in use.

I nozzle accidentally hit the metal glass clip and sparked... puuuf!!!
so I have a shorted Extruder extension board (how could that even happen...???)
traced the fault and it goes to the board....
any idea ? easy fix or I have to chase new board?

thanks in advance

Hello.

Check the fuses first. ;)

:-)
very sorry that I forgot to include more info....

extruders work both steppers
pwm cooling fan works
borad cooling fan works
fuses are ok
only the hotend cooling fans are not working
fans not burned, tested with external 24 v pws.

wonder if the trace has melt and shorted, or some sdm caps or other little components burnt.

cannot see from the two shorted pins where they go....

Hi.

Then I guess the keying mosfet transistor was damaged.
You can replace it.
Can you read schematics?
;)

Yes I can.
If I have the sch.
would you happened to have the link for it?

Appreciated!

Just in case Kaktus
First Thanks V much for your feedbacks!
Second, I do have the “sch” from Geetech’s GitHub.
But it does not contain the pin outs from thebE0 Molex connector that goes where.....

The power section shows power in but it does not show the distribution of it.

Hope you have more in detail sch on hand.
Thanks again!!!

Ps: hot end and hotbed are receiving 24V and heating up.
I have short on extruder extension board between the pins for the two fans and on the board that gives power to them as well

Hi.

All diagrams are also available on the forum.

The controller board is important. These small PCBs are only signal distribution.

Look for the appropriate key transistor in the circuit diagram and check if it works properly.
You could use a multimeter.
;)

reporting back from my finding:

power schematic
D12 is shorted
SS24 diode
will need to order from somwhere and see if only this is at fault.

Well. It is not the SS24!!!

Somewhere in the power circuit is shorted.
Couple of SDM caps measured shorted. But it could be the circuit is shorted elsewhere.
Back to square one.
