z motors will not move together but will on own

Post by justdeserves » Fri Apr 10, 2020 5:21 am

I've built my printer am running a gt2560 rev a board. The z motors work on their own, but when i connect them both at the same time - the stop and jammed up grinding. They were working fine on marlin v1.1, they have stopped after an upgrade to marlin v2. Any help appreciated

Hi, what is your model?
You can check whether your left and right z-axis are on the same horizontal line,
Make appropriate adjustments.
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)

HI - I don't really have a model it a diy build, mixing a cheap china prusa style frame and components, but its a gt2560 rev a controller board. I haven't connected the motor up to the rods yet - when i encountered the issue, i removed the rods to test the electronics. They were working on v1 or marlin, but on v2 they jam up when both being used together. If either one is powered they work individually as expected. I think it has to be firmware related, but i'm not sure what to change to get it to work.

Hi, Do you mean that you can move normally without v2?

yes - both z motors moved when running v1.4 or marlin - im trying to move to v2.0.5 of marlin to improve printing quality. This is what makes me thing its firmware related, but I cannot narrow the issue down.

Hi All - finally found the fix - just needed to lower the acceleration parameters to be lower than what is shipper with marlin 2.0.
