[SOLUTION] X axis motor which is abnormally clicking

Post by Fred-D » Mon Jan 02, 2017 11:32 pm

Hi,

I was not able to finish any print without having a shifted print on the X axis on my new Mecreator 2.

In fact, I got something like this:

I was retrying several times without any success...

I know what you are thinking : he is printing too fast.

I already slowed the print down...

I noticed that a stepper motor was doing a regular click. I did start the printer and began to move manually the X and Y axis: That was the X axis.

That sounds weird to have one stepper clicking and I decided today to dismount it and check.

Once I got it in my hands, I put my ear against it and started to turn the way I heard it clicking. Nothing.

I decided to mount it back and executed the same print.

One image is better than 1000 words:

To conclude: Even if the manufacturer is claiming that your printer is alright from the beginning, feel free to invest time (and dismount) if you have any doubt.

Have a nice day!
