I want to change 3in - 1out extruder to a normal one

Post by nicoch » Sat May 09, 2020 3:47 pm

Hey there,

on my A20T I do have clogging issues ALL the time.I have tried everything and I conclude that I want to change the extruder and hotend to a direct drive system with only one filament. I would like to have some quality stuff- so - any recommendations ? :)

I am looking forward to your suggestions.

Thanks !

Nico

We do not recommend that you modify it,it's not very simple.

It's not a problem if it is tricky.

Finding the issues with the clogging took me much more time than this could possibly take.

I bought a whole new extruder for the A20T, I bought very good filament, I changed the teflon tubes, the nozzles, the settings. I always end up with a cracking noise and a clogged hotend again.

Hi,If the Teflon tube is not inserted in place, it will be easily blocked.
You can also adjust the knob as shown in the appropriate position.

Hi, if it is too tight, the extruder will not feed well.
You can pull the consumables out when printing. if it can be pulled out, it is too tight.

and It should be confirmed that the Teflon tube on the extrusion head is inserted to the innermost.

hi I found I was getting continual jamming in the hot end when I the Teflon carrier off at the head end it was curled and twisted up inside the filament also had been ground horribly at the extruder as the gear tried to force more filament in to the head but last night I got it it was being caused by me I was loading the filament too much and the printer was loading more on top as it started the print so what I did was
1 removed the Teflon carriers clear the mess in the hot end forcing through any in that didn't cone out with the tool for all the filaments
2 this is the important bit when you load your filament I usually manually push some through the hot end to clear the old filament the the important bit wind the filament back out of the hot end 2 or 3 cm
3 repeat this for all the filaments
you may get the skirt or brim being missed so I use brim with this so they get primed ready for the print proper
so far ive not had any hot end jamming give it a go before you trash your 3 in to 1 I just learned how to mix colours so far its printed 8 colours from the 3 xtruders on the bed in one print the skys the limit

don't give up just yet

I even do this before a new print I prob don't need to but I heat the nozzle and wind the filament back a bit it may miss a bit off the brim but its nothing compared to getting a jammed hot end
