SD CARD format and file upload

Post by mecreator2 » Sat Apr 29, 2017 5:01 am

He guys,

Im having only a MAC and Windows7 computer without SD-CARD slot
i hope somebody can tell me the following :

sd card formatting : FAT / FAT32 /ExFAt etc ?

and what kind of file format upload/copy to the sd card : gcode, g or something else ?

The problem is the following, i insert the card and it shows me the card, but not the files on it(i uploaded gcode files)
Then i tried via repetier host (the latest) to upload it to the card which was inserted into the printer.

Any tips or tricks are appreciated .... its a 1Gb SD Card

And ive got the MeCreator2 ;-)

FAT32 is the format the card needs to be in. FAT also worked for me, but FAT32 will allow the use of larger cards.
I am using a 1G and an 8G without issues.
When you upload the file you must include the extension .gco.

I initially was using the SD card a lot but found it easier to just attach an old PC to the printer and print via the USB cable.

Good luck
