Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

Hi 1138, I don't think that the sensor is resetting/restarting because teh red LED light in it doesn't go out whilst it happens. If I slip a bit of paper under the pin & lift it a little, it will stick "up" for a while, then fall back down again - but this won't register an error, the red LED light ...

Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

I was wrong. It started to fall again, as soon as I tried to print for longer than a minute or two. The extension cables are standard dupont ones - although I personally didn't make them, so I can't actually guarantee them (but they worked fine as GPIO extension cables). Is it worth my while to cut ...

Re: 3d-touch pin falls during printing

It was due to the grub screw coming loose.

In the end, I took it out, wrapped some PTFE thread sealing tape around it & screwed it back in again. This has currently fixed it.

Re: Which pot do I turn to increase voltage

Thanks William, but I know where the pot is on the A4988 Stepper Motor Driver.

I just have a choice of FOUR A4988's to choose from, & was asking which one is the one that runs the extruder - as that's the one that I need to change the voltage on.

Re: GT2560 Rev A+ Power over USB

My GT2560A+ board doesn't appear to care that it doesn't have USB power, as it gets its power from the PSU. The guy on FaceBook who wrote about the idea said that he's been running his printer like this for the past year with no adverse effects, & many people online appear to have actually managed t...

Connector names

Amongst other things I am looking to really neaten up my printer - hopefully after/if I get it printing properly. What are the names of the connectors/plugs/sockets that the stepper motors use & what are the names of the plugs & sockets that the end-stops use too? Once I know what they are called, I...

3d-touch pin falls during printing

Hi, I know that this problem has been covered somewhere here in the forums, but I have gone backwards & forwards through the vast number of pages of 3D-Touch problems, & I just can't find it. Basically, my 3d-touch pin falls down during printing. The magnetic coil inside it is just on the edge of ho...

Which pot do I turn to increase voltage

Hi, I need to increase the voltage on my extruder, as it keeps on skipping. I have cleaned the nozzle, checked the feed & done all the other recommended things. All that I have left to try is to increase the voltage. I have a Pro W with a GT2560A+ board & one extruder. The GT2560A+ takes 5 A4988 ste...

Re: GT2560 Rev A+ Power over USB

This was covered a couple of weeks ago in the "Geeetech 3D Printers Owners Group (Unofficial)" on Facebook. You're going to kick yourself when you read the solution, but for starters I would advise against trying to cut the power in a USB cable as it's a complete nightmare. However, to sort the powe...
