I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier; did you get this sorted? I had desolder the 2-pin X-max socket on the motherboard, and solder in a 3-pin socket.

I made up a drawing to label the connectors on the board...

Alienmoon, Those are the 4-lead screws referenced in the post above. Assuming you have a 1.8 degree stepper motor {200 steps per revolution} and 1/16 microstepping set on the driver (most printers are like this), you need to set it at 400 steps/mm. IE: 200 steps/Rev X 16 pulses per step = 3200 pulse...

The correct setting for the 4-lead T8 screws I have is 400 steps/mm. 1600 woud be the setting for a standard T8 acme threaded rod, but usually the ones you find are the 4-lead ones, where each revolution of the rod raises the nut 8 mm, vs. the 2 mm of a standard rod. Confusing, I know.
